Dr. Tiffani McElrath, knew she wanted to be a dentist at a very young age.  As a child, she would check her aunt’s teeth and make sure everyone in her family properly brushed and flossed.   Her interest in oral health was playful at the time, but as she matured, it soon became a passion.  McElrath, a graduate of Southfield High School, in Southeast Michigan, enrolled in Michigan State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Physiology.

She applied that knowledge to her desire to become a dentist when she attended the University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry.  McElrath earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2012, but did not stop there.  Many dentists jump right into practice or work at clinics, but Dr. McElrath wanted to build more experience. She took a residency, serving patients in the Washington D.C. area through Howard University.  There she gained extensive knowledge of underserved, uninsured and under-insured populations.

This knowledge helped her become one of the most productive and promising new dentists in the area.  Dr. Tiffani McElrath is currently serving as a general  dentist for Western Wayne Family Health  Center in Taylor Michigan  She prides herself on caring not only for the patients’ oral health, but also for their overall well-being.  Dr. McElrath finds satisfaction in knowing she can provide comfort to her patients along with restoring dignity and pride, giving them something to smile about. Dr. McElrath lives by the saying “knowledge is power, but enthusiasm flips the switch” After becoming a dentist she pledged to continue to practice with that same energy and fire that she felt when she was first accepted to dental school.
